During rare celestial alignments the Elemental Planes sometimes
converge close enough in the Void to have some affect on each other.
These alignments can last for brief moments or take years to drift
apart.  Scholars agree that these conjunctions can facilitate powerful
magical feats, especially when the magic in question is centered
around the most prevalent of the four elements at the conjunction.
