Biography

Born & raised in central VA.
Attended the College of William and Mary in Virginia, graduating with a BS in Computer Science.
Worked for a single company, programming on IBM midrange computers mostly in, ironically enough given my hobbies, variants of a language called RPG. So I can handle a bit 'o technology, but I've only a passing familiarity with programing for Windows and none for *nix platforms or Macs.

Interests

Face to face RPGs (D&D, GURPS, FATE, etc). I've been playing variants of these games since 1978.
Painting miniature figures for use in RPGs. Not very interested in miniature figure wargames. I've been doing this off and on (more off than on) since the mid 1980s.
Computer games:
- CRPGs
- Single player stategy games
- Diablo II style games
- Used to play first person shooters until they started giving me vertigo
- Flight sims (sort of). Mostly the Wing Comander franchise when it still existed
- MUDs are new to me. The only multiplayer CRPG I'd done was Ultima Online in its early days.
Reading science fiction and fantasy books and (to a lesser extent) movies.
Stand up comedy (watching, not doing -- my puns would get me booed off any stage)
General history and science topics. I don't tend to spend a lot of time on a single subject, sort of a jack of all trades, master of none approach.

Avatar MUD Information

I started AVATAR on 07/28/2006 with my first alt, Morlicar. As such, I'm still a newbie and probably will be for a while. I tend to solo, which is slower than teaming up with others to form parties (I have grouped a few times). Even so, I feel I can explore at my slow pace when by myself, which I feel I cannot do when grouped (don't want to bore my allies...)
