After spending long hours searching the night for monsters, many find that the shapes and shadows of the darkness hold discernible meaning. The stars and moon seem friendly, benevolent sources of light rather than frightening signs of a looming void. This skill perfects that acquired instinct by allowing the learner to see nearby monsters and to see details of rooms in the dark. Since the skill relies on ambient light, it will only function outdoors and at times when there are few clouds. This skill is automatic once practiced.
