This racial gives +1% spell power upon a terminal hit to a mob, which lasts for 3 tics. Each additional terminal hit before the racial expires will add an additional percent and reset the timer to 3 tics. Once the timer expires you will have to start over from 1%.
This racial gives +2% spell power upon a terminal hit to a mob, which lasts for 3 tics. Each additional terminal hit before the racial expires will add an additional two percent and 3 tics. Once the bonus equals +10% the next terminal hit will give a mana bloom instead of a spell power bonus, and reset the bonus to zero.

 Illithid have an afinity to mental spells including impressive immunity to most
 mental manipulation.
 
 Illithid's mental aptitude allows them to deal more damage with mental-type
 spells. However, where Illithid are strong with mental-type spells, they are
 not very apt with kinetic spells.
 
 Upon delivering a terminal kill to an enemy, an Illithid absorbs the life
 essence of the fallen and adds it to their own.
 
 Note: This racial ability is innate and does not require any specific action to
 initiate. It operates naturally, like breathing.
