Gith: The Githyanki and the Githzerai are hated enemies of each other but they are in reality members of the same base race. The differences between them are primarily ideological.

The Gith race are humanoid creatures that have existed on the planes for centuries. This planar affinity allows sufficiently powerful gith to call upon an innate ability to planeshift.

Giths have powerful intellects which make them adept at using magic of all varieties although they are especially strong with the psionic school. This allows them to imbue their regular physical attacks with mental damage.

They are a stealthy race and able to sneak well although they typically make poor archers.

  • Abbreviation: Gth.

Comments

Giths receive a 5% general spell cost reduction with an additional 12% reduction for psionic spells, making them well suite for Psi and Mnd. Additionally, Racial Convoke is very hand for Psi's that don't like dealing with lost weapons make Gith a popular choice for Psi.

Creation

Creating a gth involves turning in a mindflayer scalp, which is a skin-corpse item from an ancient mindflayer in the leeches portion of Demi-plane Of Dread, accessed from Memory Lane.

The scalp is given to Z'ier Uku on the second-floor of Rietta's Wonders. He will also give you a githyanki bone staff.
