Howdy! Welcome to my talk page!

Gear

Hey Dave, I'm just adding this and that as I see missing spots :). I'm not particularly good with formatting or wiki-code, so I mostly just grab what I see on other pages :) I think I originally grabbed the comments/directions from one of your pages in fact! If you have any recommendations as to formatting on any of my pages I welcome it :). JonDooger

Howdy again, Dave, I see what you're saying about the info for getting a gear on a quest page, and I agree that that makes sense. But I do disagree with you about putting info on a mob's page. If someone is looking to obtain a piece of gear, they will probably look up that piece of gear first, so it makes sense to have it on the gear page. It doesn't seem like it'd be bad to be redundant in this regard anyways... why not have it on both pages? JonDooger 11:14, 14 February 2006 (EST)

That having been said, I did just peek at the Red Dragon/Dragon gear pages and they do look quite crisp. Hmmm... JonDooger 11:17, 14 February 2006 (EST)

Maps

I like your maps but I have a few suggestions, well really one suggestion that is applicable to all of them.

They are way too small! As an example the Sableroix Manor map, The grid intself is taking up ~60% of the map page, and 15% is taken up by a totally unnecessary compass. The text lables of each room are hard to read, so is the key, and so are the elements that compose the key.

Now don't get me wrong, the map is great, complete, functional, and more than useable, but if it were a little easier to read it'd be a whole lot better. --Mel 15:34, 25 Jan 2006 (EST)

Thanks very much for your feedback! Hmmm. As for my maps' text, I can read all of it with little difficulty. Is anyone else having any trouble reading it? If so, then I may "head back to the drawing board" on this matter. And, as for my maps's room spacing, you're quite correct that I could have (and, perhaps, should have) spread out rooms on my Sableroix Manor map (for example) a bit more to fill available space. This was mainly a result of my trying to produce more maps in less time; I quickly developed and have been using both (1) a standardized 7.5"×10" background, easily printable on standard 8.5"×11" paper for offline viewing, and (2) standard mapmaking components and techniques. Customizing room spacing for each map would take more time but it may well be worth it. I'll definitely consider this and perhaps redo some of my work. Would anyone else like to add their thoughts on this subject? I greatly appreciate any useful feedback. --Dave Garber 17:40, 25 Jan 2006 (EST)
