Although the work of art has been made worthless by all the damage, it is possible to make out some words scrawled along the bottom in ink:
To the occasion of one of my friends's nearing birth - May peace and happiness find you always in this child. - Veyah
But that does not make much sense. Why would a citizen bring this painting to her as her own child is slaughtered? The only explanation is that she was trying to remind Veyah of a broken promise. Evidently she failed, and died as well.

When you give this ticket to the High Drow Mother that is searching for something you get the following message:

You give a small painting to a High Drow mother.
The mother slows and stops as she sees you hold out the painting. "Oh," she says. She shakes her head as if to clear it, and then says, "I never thought I would see this again. I tried to show it to Veyah, once..." She pauses, tired.
"Take this note. You may do anything you wish with it, just do not let it fall into Veyah's hands. I fear the longer I stay here, the easier it will be for me to lose the note. I entrust it to you, now, for I am tired of keeping its secrets." She wanders off, still mumbling to herself as she does.
A High Drow mother gives you a note detailing the drider invasion!

Of course, she gives you the note after this
