It lasts throughout hero.

It rewards the bearer with:

+1 con
+1 wis
+1 int

If you are pre-500 you also receive:

+75 hp
+75 mana

However, if you are 500+:

+50 mana
+50 hp

The mana/hp does not degrade to +50 once you go higher than 500.
