There is a path leading northwest from the Elven settlements in the foothills of Lloth's peak. It is rumored to lead all the way through the pine forest to the north of the settlements, and through the mountains known as Tiamat's Teeth. On the other side, there is reputed to be an oasis of warmth and sun amidst the frigid mountains.

I'd suggest to keep the area map right next to you when you first run here. You don't want to run into near any of the bordering areas.
The basilisks aggie, whereas the scorpions don't. The ettins aggie sleepers, that I know. Not sure about when you're awake.
scorpions and basilisks can be found in the northern part of the area (north of Iceways), while ettins are in the southern part (south of Iceways).
