The gods are fickle creatures and if you desire to get closer to them with a higher level of devotion, this is the next step after worshipping. As a result of becoming devoted, your enhanced statistic bonuses will be modified in conjunction with your god's biases. Please note, you will not be able to train more/less with this change. It simply affects how high or low you can go in regards to magical enhancements such as spells and magical item bonuses. This can be removed with the unworship command at the same time you decide to stop worshipping your god.

You'll find with certain gods and goddesses that the effects of your spells are modified. For example, a devoted Tul-Sith cleric/priest can expect to heal 300hp with a single divinity, while others can expect less than that. The atheist rate on that is 250hp, so Tul-Sith offers a 20% increase in healing effectiveness.

Devotion to a god or goddess can also affect things like spell duration, ac provided by spells, and melee effectiveness. An example of this would be the Kra armor class bonus, or the Gorn duration bonus. Werredan is known to provide bonuses to XP as well.
